Fleet Update ~ FirstLowstoft/Ipswich

The first of the '05 reg ALX400s has left Lowestoft, thanks to the arrival of 37565 AU58ECJ. The bus in question is 32652 AU05MUP which has turned up at FirstIpswich, spotted here by David Warren today. As you can see, the X2 branding has been removed and been replaced with IPSWICH fleetnames. First said that although all five were due to be transferred to Colchester, one may be allocated to Ipswich to assist; this seems to have happened. She joins sister ALX400 32653 AU05MUV  which has been in Ipswich for a fair while now. Thanks to David for the report and the use of his photo.

  3. According to the First website the East of England section is being split again, with Suffolk reverting to Norwich control, not Essex as has been the case recently. It will be interesting to see how this affects the fleet movements - hopefully less Basildon rubbish moving North. Do you guys havce any info you can add to this?

  4. Hi Steve, the only relevant info I've heard about the new structure is that there will be more buses that can be transferred to and from our nearest depots as Potteries and Wyvern now fall under EC control. This is all I know, sorry!

  5. @Steve W, the fleet movements I suspect will remain as ever and Essex take a fair few ex Eastern Counties stock. For example, Chelmsford and Braintree have a few ex Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft stock. One of these caught fire today

  6. First have a habit of moving stock around where needed, nationwide. For example, Chelmsford has a number of ex Plymouth Pointers and ex Yorkshire Eclipses. Norwich, Braintree and Hadleigh have a number of ex London Presidents. I doubt even with the local management changes, that Firsts fleet policy will change.
