Norwich Bus Station ~ 15th December 2012

Kieran Smith visited the Norwich Bus Station last Saturday, and pictured three of the new Anglian MAN EcoCitys which dominate the 146 Route.

The 15th December marked the MAN EcoCitys 12th Day of Service.

Anglianbus 606 WX62HFU is pictured turning into Norwich Bus Station.

Anglianbus MAN EcoCity 603 WX62HHF was pictured on the 146 leaving Norwich for Lowestoft, with the scrolling Destination "Running On Gas".

A ostrich head decided slip itself into the picture.

The fourth MAN EcoCity was Anglianbus 602 WX62HGU also heading for Lowestoft.

 Anglian will take delivery of seven more of these Caetano bodied Gas Buses in the New Year.  They are expected to be on services, 580/1, 588, & 601. (Yet to be confirmed)

Anglianbus Dennis Trident X251NNO was on the 588 heading Bungay bound, but the driver forgot to change the destination so it still had 'Norwich Via Poringland' up on the blind.

Konectbus 801 BD57WCY was sat at Norwich bus Station as a spare today which very unusual anyway, but also the Citaro bendies don't usually see service on weekends.

One of two First Great Yarmouth Caister Road based Plaxton Paragons was seen on X1 shorts duties, Norwich to Great Yarmouth Via Acle.

First EC 66126 S116JTP is still on loan to First Lowestoft from First Great Yarmouth, its pictured running a X2 from Norwich Bus Station to Lowestoft.

The X2 is to soon have a revamp with "new" 05 Reg ALX400's in the new First livery with route branding. But it isn't a hard decision when it comes to choosing a MAN EcoCity with Anglianbus or this with First Bus when travelling between Norwich & Lowestoft.

Finally, this picture shows that 18M Mercedes Benz-Citaro G Bendy buses and MAN Ecocitys do not go well when attempting to do a turn, the Konectbus Bendy BD57WCY was at the spare bus bay, Konectbus Optare Tempo was opposite out of service resting between duties and Anglianbus MAN EcoCity stuck in the middle of a turn. Kieran reports that nearly every bus he saw got stuck when attempting to leave the station.
