Norwich Bus Page Exclusive - X1 Buses Future Revealed

The arrival of the Enviro400s planned to be used on the X1 has been unavoidably delayed. Delivery will commence late August into September.

Norwich Bus Page are pleased to announce we have had confirmation, from a trusted and reliable source, of what will be happening in terms of X1 buses when the new Alexander Dennis Enviro400s enter service later in the year. Once the new buses are here, some of the 58 registered Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Geminis will enter service on the X2, the others being sent over to use at First Midlands. The 2007 registered Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Geminis will be sent to the Great Yarmouth depot for use on the 1 and 1A. Because of the newer buses on the X2, the current Volvo B7TL/Alexander Dennis ALX400s which run the route a being transferred to First Ipswich for use on the 66, which uses the short Ipswich guided busway in Kesgrave. This means these buses will join back up with sister vehicle 32653 which was separated from the batch when they moved away from Norwich.

We have also had confirmation that the new livery will be an exclusive and never before seen livery which bears no resemblance to the current First corporate colours.
