Norwich Park & Ride Special Part 2 - Thickthorn

Today brings Part 2 of our new series focusing on Norwich's Park & Ride services and this time we'll be focusing on the Thickthorn site.

502 YJ05PXC sits in green surroundings. This bus is expected to be repainted later this week

Thickthorn Park & Ride is operated by Konectbus and runs every twelve minutes to and from the city centre. It is situated just off the roundabout where the A11 crosses the A47. It is the sixth purpose built site for Norwich and was opened on the 29th March 2005 by the Chariman of the County Council, Richard Rockcliffe.

Unlike Harford, there are no electric car charging bays but the site does offer cycle parking and recycling facilities. But similarly the journey to and from the city takes approximately ten minutes.

503 YJ05PXD has also seen recent use on the service

The site is smaller than Harford with 726 spaces and the service has a PVR of three vehicles. These are usually three 2005 registered VDL DB250LF Wright Pulsar Geminis with a special pink livery specifically for the service however very recently these buses have been repainted into Konect's standard fleet livery pending the arrival of a batch of new buses to enter service from the 7th September.
