1st December Norwich sightings

December is here, and all our thoughts turn to Christmas, which means its time for me to change to the festive NBP Logo.
Kieran Smith visited the 'fine city' today to catch up on the latest bus workings and once again witnessed another First bus mess up,  in the form of Volvo ALX400 W741DWX broken down on the X2 at Norwich Bus Station, which mesed up the service schedules for the rest of the day. Just a normal day for regular X2 users! Passengers travelling between Norwich and Lowestoft will be relieved from Monday when the Anglianbus 146 commences using 62 Reg MAN EcoCitys.

First X1 shorts & expresses were literately running with each other between Norwich & Great Yarmouth. First Great Yarmouth Scania S664RNA is pictured turning turning into Norwich Bus Station to load up for Great Yarmouth.

Regular Norfolk Green X29 users are always guaranteed a treat on a Saturday with lots of variety of buses on the route, this week includes Irisbus Agora Line GX07BAU & Optare Spectra YG02FWB.

First Great Yarmouth WV02EUR was at Norwich Bus Station getting ready to run a X1 short to Great Yarmouth. This is one of two Plaxton Paragons dedicated to the X1 shorts the other being WV02EUP these and a couple of First Great Yarmouth Darts or Scanias make up the route.

Konectbus W822NNJ a East Lancs Lolyne recently transferred from Go-Ahead Brighton & Hove was filling for one of the Enviro400's on Service 8. Konectbus have recently received 6 of these from fellow Go-Ahead operators.

Many Thanks to Kieran for the pictures. All are copyright to him.

I can totally ratify your experiences on the X2 service. As a regular user I have to say this service is absolutely deplorable. During the last week every single bus that I caught on my regular journey between Beccles and Norwich was either late or simply did not turn up. Rumours are that First Group are winding this service down as Anglian are taking over the route with their new 146 Service that starts on Monday (3rd Dec). None too soon in my opinion. Unfortunately there are no early buses on the new Anglian service although I have heard they may well introduce further buses if the service proves popular. I hope this is the case as I need to get to work on time, so will have to put up with this joke of a service for a little longer. I have a written account of my experience of the X2 service over the last 18 months at http://griffmonster.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/first-group-x2-lowestoft-to-norwich.html

Hi, thanks for you comment. I have also heard that Anglianbus could bring earlier buses, also, i have heard First may up the frequency to every 20 minutes to compete with Anglianbus, however, i am unsure how much of this is true.
    Thanks again,
