A Depot Visit ~ Konectbus

Blog reader Mark Connett recently got in touch with a selection of photographs he took at Konectbus' premises in Dereham on Sunday the 16th March 2014. We start with a view of the relatively newly built garage and offices. The premises was opened in March last year as the old garage was unable to accommodate all the vehicles, resulting in a large proportion being parked in an overflow car park over night across the road.

As it was a Sunday, the depot was rather full and had all sorts of buses present. Here is a panoramic style shot of all five bendy Mercedes-Benz O350G Citaros that Konect operate.

Adjacent to the line up of bendies, were the deckers. Usually when I visit they are parked next to others of the same type but on this occasion this was not the case. Mark managed to photograph a pastel pink liveried VDL DB250LF Wright Pulsar Gemini parked next to a blue Enviro400 and an ex-Brighton & Hove East Lancs Lolyne bodied Dennis Trident; creating a very colourful line-up!

Something else which may not be seen very often in the future is an Anglianbus liveried vehicle parked up in the yard. As part of the new year service revisions, Konect acquired four of Anglian's Slimline bodied Solos. Two have been repainted so far which leaves the other two still operating in bright yellow like 953 YN57HPX seen below.

The final image in this post depicts a Harford Park & Ride branded Enviro400 on one of the service bays ahead of 50 R739XRV, their open top Volvo Olympian. Not only is it nice to see an interior shot of the garage, but because the colours of the two buses are so alike it almost looks like both have merged into one extra long partially open top vehicle! Now that would be a site to see!

Mark would like to thank Konectbus for being particularly friendly on his visit and allowing him to take unlimited photos on site.
